2026 "Swing for STEM" Golf Tournament

Join AFFIRM for the Swing for STEM Golf Tournament on Tuesday, October 6, at Westfields Golf Club in Clifton, Virginia. The tournament brings government and industry professionals together for a fun day on the course while raising money for the AFFIRM STEM scholarship program. It is a great chance to get outside, catch up with colleagues, meet new people and build relationships in a more relaxed setting than the usual office or conference room.

We will have contests, games and plenty of activity on the course, including our Heckle Hole. So bring your clubs, your competitive spirit and your sense of humor. Most importantly, your participation helps support scholarships for students pursuing STEM education.

Schedule

11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. | Registration and Lunch

Check in, grab lunch on the club patio, and warm up on the driving range and putting green before the tournament.

1:00 p.m. | Shotgun Start

The tournament gets underway with 18 holes of golf, contests, games, refreshments and plenty of opportunities to connect with other players.

5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. | Awards Reception and Dinner

After the tournament, join us for dinner, drinks, awards and a raffle.

The Heckle Hole

Want some peace and quiet? You can buy it.

At the Heckle Hole, our hecklers will be waiting when you step up to the tee. They will have plenty to say while you try to make your shot. Want them to stop? Make a donation to AFFIRM's STEM scholarship program. Once you donate, the heckling stops. Or, if you're feeling generous, you can donate to keep the heckling going for the next golfer.

It's all in good fun, and it's all for STEM.

Tournament Contests

Test your skills in our Longest Drive and Closest-to-the-Pin contests. Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female players in each contest.

Raffle and On-Course Games

There will be games and activities throughout the course, along with a raffle during the awards reception.

Bring a little extra cash if you want to join in.

Please note: All registrations are final and not eligible for refund. Substitutions are allowed.

More Than a Golf Tournament
The Swing for STEM tournament typically brings together a mix of government and industry professionals, with an audience that is approximately 40% government and 60% industry. That makes the tournament a great place to reconnect with people you already know and meet professionals you may not otherwise have a chance to talk with. There is plenty of time to have a conversation between holes, over lunch or during the reception.

Before You Arrive

Dress Code

• Soft-spike golf shoes are permitted on the golf course and driving range.

• Shirts must have collars.

• Denim jeans, denim shorts and jogging apparel are not permitted.

• Please follow all Westfields Golf Club rules regarding the course and golf carts.
