Beyond Castle and Moat: Cybersecurity 2023

Cyberspace and its underlying infrastructure are vulnerable to a wide range of risks stemming from both physical and cyber threats and hazards. The Administration’s proposed FY 2023 budget calls for an 11% increase in funding for cybersecurity efforts in Federal civilian agencies.

This funding will provide nearly $11 billion to focus on meeting priorities outlined in the recent executive order on Improving the Nation’s Cybersecurity.

This discussion will draw on the expertise of leaders from government to discuss with AFFIRM sustaining partners their agency plans to tap newly budgeted funds to modernize and secure their agencies’ cybersecurity protections.

  • Explore funding and progress in implementing a zero trust approach.
  • Detail the mandate for a more extensive partnership between the federal government and the private sector.
  • Discuss government policy, program and mission initiatives supporting agencies as they plan funding approaches for enhanced cybersecurity.
